 Dear Reader, No one wants to disappoint others, or be disappointed themselves. But it happens. The challenge is dealing with it. Finding a way to be happy—and make others feel the same—without giving up anything that is fundamentally important or essential to you. Lulu McCabe is definitely feeling the pressure. The only daughter of Frank and Rachel McCabe, and sister to her five brothers, she is constantly protected and advised. Some of the attention is warranted, she admits. It took her a while to figure out what she wanted to do with her life. (Besides get married and have a big, loving family of her own.) She definitely made some Big Mistakes along the way. And knows, if her family ever learned about the most important of them, wow, would they ever be disappointed in her! Sam Kirkland is her direct opposite. He doesn’t give a hoot what others say or think as long as he knows in his gut (and his heart) that he is doing the right thing. Of course, he’s made some Big Mistakes, too. The most devastating, with his current nemesis, and former girlfriend, Lulu McCabe. He has no more use for her, than she has for him, until three orphaned triplets enter their lives. The duty is Sam’s. Lulu’s only Back-Up Guardian, should Sam fail, and Sam has absolutely no intention of crashing and burning the way he and Lulu once did. Of course, we all know what happens when we’re busy making other plans. Life. And in this life, Lulu and Sam and those three little boys are meant to be together. The only question is, will Sam and Lulu be able to rekindle their love? Here’s hoping…! Happy reading!  Dear Reader, We all have people we care about in our lives, and when they are in trouble, or just seem to be, it can be hard to figure out what to do. Intervene. Give them their space and hope for the best. Simply let them know we are there for them. Or utilize some combination of all of the above. Sara Anderson is a widow, who’s been through a pretty rough year. But she has good stuff happening in her life, too. She has a six month old son, Charley, whom she adores. And volunteer work as a veterinarian providing medical care for service dogs. Matt McCabe is an ex-soldier and current Laramie County rancher, who is spending more and more time alone. Sara needs his help, temporarily caring for Champ, a puppy in service dog training. When he refuses her, she begins to worry. This isn’t the Matt she knew in high school, who was fun-loving and gallant to the core. The Matt she had always secretly lusted after, but never dared to pursue. Matt thinks Sara has changed, too. She’s got a wall up around her heart that leads him to believe the rumors about trouble in her marriage, before her husband’s death, are true. He wants to help her, as much as she wants to help him, yet neither are willing to divulge their own secrets. Harlequin has stopped publishing American Romance and Western Romance, the beloved lines that have been my publishing home for many years. The wonderful news?  Dear Reader, Preschool teacher Kelly Shackleford doesn’t trust ‘the system’ that both rescued her and wrecked utter havoc on her childhood.  Dear Reader, We’ve all done it. Made detailed plans, only to see them go hopelessly awry. We’ve also done the opposite. Made a Grand Plan with absolutely no details, intending to get by on the fly. Only to have that implode, too. So where is the happy medium? Sage Lockhart’s romantic dreams have fallen apart. She still wants to have a child. But this time she is not taking any chances. She’s going into the situation with a clear-eyed vision and a proposal. Nick Monroe has always pushed hard and fast for what he wants. That hasn’t worked out for him, either.  Dear Reader, We all have the capacity to forgive, but sometimes finding the compassion within us to do so can be tough. Such is the case for Wyatt Lockhart. He and Adelaide Smythe go way back, to a time when they were very close. {Too close, their parents said.} And many years after when, for reasons known only to the two of them, they barely spoke. A chance meeting reminded them of the incredible chemistry they once had. Unfortunately, it also highlighted the continuing differences between them. Throw in a little troublemaking by one of Adelaide’s family members, and it seemed like Wyatt and Adelaide were destined to be on the outs with each other for life. Had Wyatt not found himself responsible for the care of Adelaide’s seven week old twins. Suddenly, Adelaide and Wyatt had two very good reasons to find a way to peacefully cohabit and become a real team. The question is, will a temporary liaison for the sake of the kids turn into a long lasting love?
